Golden Globe Award-winning actress Amy Adams received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday (January 11).

Joined by husband Darren Le Gallo and their 6-year-old daughter Aviana, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star, 42, was all smiles during the afternoon ceremony in Hollywood, Calif.

During her acceptance speech, the Enchanted star recalled her first audition in Los Angeles.

“I fully expected this morning, when I woke up, that I’d have all this time to, sort of, reflect, come up with a speech that was worthy of this moment. But, as life has taught me, when you lean on expectations, you miss out on the magic that is possible,” the Arrival star said.

The American Hustle actress added: “When I first drove onto the Disney lot – I think it was January 21, 1999, not that I’m keeping track – but that was my first audition in Los Angeles, and I never, ever expected that it would lead me to this moment and receiving this honour. I never expected, when I got a call that Steven Spielberg wanted to meet me, that he would actually give me a job.”

As it turns out, Adams got choked up during the ceremony.

“I didn’t expect to cry!” she admitted while holding back the tears. “There’s so many more people who have worked long hours to help me figure it out, and thank you so much for that.”

Congratulations to Amy!
