Israeli star appeared on Comic-Con’s “Women Who Kick Ass” panel featuring Kathy Bates, “Game of Thrones” star Gwendoline Christie
If screams erupting in Comic-Con’s Hall H are any measurement of success, Gal Gadot is an easy winner at the 2015 San Diego convention.
On the heels of a packed Warner Bros.’ panel on Saturday that showcased Gadot’s debut as Wonder Woman in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” the Israeli stunner elaborated on her first time trying on the iconic costume.
“Three days after I got cast for the movie, they flew me to Michigan, and I got into this huge room filled with images of me as Wonder Woman,” Gadot said on Entertainment Weekly’s “Women Who Kick Ass” panel in Hall H.
“We got into another room and I saw the costume for the first time. And we had a fitting, and it was an out-of-body experience — there I was, little Gal from Israel becoming Wonder Woman. I think it really represents the Wonder Woman of today, I’m very grateful to be the one who is going to bring her to life,” she said.
Gadot was joined on the panel by Gwendoline Christie of “Game of Thrones” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Marvel’s Agent Carter” star Haley Atwell, “Doctor Who” leading lady Jenna Coleman and “American Horror Story” player Kathy Bates.
One fan and fellow Israeli spoke Hebrew to Gadot, asking her to share her experience of making it in Hollywood from “our very small country.”
“All the clichés are right,” she said. “I really believe now that it doesn’t matter where you come from… if you’re persistent and if you’re good, if you’re trying your best and being proactive.”
Gadot will appear alongside Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, Demian Birchir and Holly Hunter when “Dawn of Justice” opens nationwide on March 25. 2016.
